The Huawei Y6 Pro 2017 Dual Sim is the 4th smartphone of this manufacturer, which I am allowed to use – besides that there are other smartphones in our family, so that it is easy to compare them.

While the big manufacturers present their new flagships almost every six months, from my point of view the lower price range is especially interesting: most people don’t need any of the highly developed features of the current high-end devices, which are currently available on the market. After a Huawei Honor 5X, which unfortunately fell into cell phone heaven, I myself am currently using a Huawei Honor 6X (currently around 200 EUR) – in addition to some older smartphones we have two no-name devices from China (for 100 and 50 EUR respectively). So the Huawei Y6 Pro 2017 is positioned somewhere in between in terms of price.

It’s noticeable that almost all devices in this price range have a very similar design – due to their shape: the back side almost always consists of a matte aluminum shell (here in rose gold), while the end caps are made of plastic – as in the Huawei Y6 Pro 2017. This has its reason, because usually the antennas are located there and a metal cover would reduce the transmitting power considerably.

The Y6 has a large 5 inch IPS display, which makes a very good impression, but nowadays it is almost one of the small display sizes. Although it only has the small HD resolution of 1280×720 pixels, i.e. no Full HD, as stated in some overviews at Amazon, the overall display is very good – the colors (which can be adjusted), contrasts, resolution – it all fits.

Huawei has given all his devices their own user interface, but it takes much less getting used to than those of other manufacturers. The manufacturer also provides regular updates for his devices – both the latest Andoid versions and the UI. Huawei has already announced that there will be an upgrade to Android 8.0 Oreo for the Y6 as well – it is currently shipped with Android 7.0 and Huaweis EMUI 5.1 Lite.

Inside the Y6 Pro 2017 there is a Snapdragon 425 processor with 4 cores instead of the MediaTek processor of the previous version. This is almost the only difference between the two models. On board are 2 GB RAM and 16 GB read-only memory, which can be expanded by up to 128 GB using Micro-SD cards. All together this is more power than a normal gasoline user needs – everything runs smoothly and fast, only with more demanding games you reach the performance limits of this smartphone.

The voice quality (you sometimes forget that these all-rounders are first and foremost telephones!) is excellent as with all Huawei devices I have had so far – so good that conversation partners have already recognized by the sound that I have a new phone – in a positive sense by even audibly improved call quality. The built-in 12 megapixel main camera takes decent pictures – the quality of which, however, depends strongly on the lighting conditions. With the integrated 3.000 mAh battery you can use the device for 2 days with moderate usage before it has to be plugged in again. Almost a must nowadays is the fingerprint sensor on the back – a feature I wouldn’t want to miss anymore.

So why only 4 stars? For beginners or those people who use their smartphone only for phoning, chatting, surfing or one or the other game app, there are much cheaper devices that cover most features or even offer more – e.g. my Bluboo Dual, which also comes with an aluminum case and a Full HD IPS display, plus a fingerprint sensor and a double camera – it also has only a quad-core processor, but costs just 100 EUR! For those who want to spend around 200 EUR on a cell phone, I strongly recommend the Honor 6X – costs the same and has a Full HD display, fingerprint sensor and an excellent dual camera and also 32 GB fixed memory.

&nbsp,I already own the predecessor model of the Huawei Y6. Back then I was already positively surprised by the Huawei Y6. The smartphone comes with a micro-USB charging cable, USB power plug and headphones. The short manual is really short and explains only the most necessary things. If you want to learn more about all the functions of the phone, you can either play around with it for hours, or read the manual, which can be found at Huawei.

But if you are familiar with Android phones, you will quickly find your way around the Y6 Pro 2017. It’s a bit tricky to get the card slot for the Nano-Sim and external memory cards out.

While we’re at it, the battery is built into the Huawei Y6 Pro 2017. So it cannot be replaced separately. If something is wrong with the battery, you have to send the whole phone in. Maybe you should consider this when buying the phone. With a little more than 3.000 mAh the battery has also enough juice on board. I especially like the fact that the phone is already equipped with a display protection foil. The 5 inch HD display is crisp and sharp. The edges are all rounded. The cell phone is therefore very comfortable in the hand. The whole processing of the metal housing and display glass I personally feel as high-quality. I also like the mix of the white front and the golden back very much.
That makes the Huawei somehow very noble.

2 GB RAM memory is an absolute standard in this price range. The apps can be opened quickly and smoothly. I also think it’s good that the huwei is not overloaded with too many in-house apps, as you know it from other providers.

The 5 MP Selfie camera takes crisp, sharp pictures. Even my old Samsung Galaxy S5 can’t keep up with that. The 13 MP main camera is also good for the price range up to 200 Euro. As I said, it is not a professional cell phone. If you want great pictures in super quality, you need a better device. Also it is cumbersome to get the camera settings by wiping over the display. I would have preferred a direct button.

The sound from the speaker is good. Most of the time you use an additional external Bluetooth speaker for music anyway. The included headphones are just accessories and should therefore not be overrated in the sound.

On the back is a fingerprint sensor, who would like to use something like that.

What does the Huawei Y6 Pro 2017 not have on board ?
NFC = Near Field Communication Br> Br> Br> For this, it offers: Br> Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, 2.4GHz Br> USB 2.0 Br> Bluetooth 4.1 Br> Br> In addition, 4G LTE FDD: B1/B3/B5/B7/B8/B20 Br> 4G TD-LTE: B40, and GPS Br> Not to forget ! It is a Dual-Sim cell phone and can therefore be operated with 2 Nano Sim cards.
In addition, the internal 16 GB memory can be expanded with an external Micro-SD. But for this the additional Nano-Sim-card space is omitted.

My short conclusion: I like it ! It feels good in the hand. The Selfie camera is great. The display is crisp and sharp with the colors. In addition, it is also a dual sim cell phone. Then the powerful battery with 3,020 mAH. Who is not looking for a professional cell phone, will also be happy with the Huawei Y6 Pro 2017.

I have confronted the Y6 with the daily routine of a smartphone and compared it with other smartphones of the same price segment in my possession.

The display:

With its 5 large display (1280 x 720), the Y6 is in no way inferior to the competition. It convinces with its color brilliance. Vibrant, strong colors in media and games, as well as in the reproduction of fonts and sharpness/display, are not to be criticized.

————————————————————————————————————————————————–

The processor:

The Y6 with its quad core can still keep up with this. You have to bring out the best in it (graphics) to make a difference to the upper class. The normal use (websurfing, mp3’s etc.) and also non-graphic-heavy games run smoothly.
—————————————————————————————————————————————————-

The battery >br>
> The Y6 is without doubt at the top of the list. As is well known, the consumption in the smartphone sector is not exactly low. With its legendary 3000 mAh and then the possibility to change the battery, the Y6 will easily get you through the day even under extreme use. I have the display brightness permanently set to 100% and despite numerous phone calls, playing around and hours of surfing I didn’t get it dead within a working day.
—————————————————————————————————————————————————-

The camera

In a word – snapshot-suitable in good light.
But since at big events like family celebrations and/or other important occasions rather real cameras are used, I don’t want to give it too much weight. For a quick photo in between, it’s just about enough.
—————————————————————————————————————————————————-

The voice quality

I have put it into operation in the O2 as well as in the D1 and Vodafone network and am absolutely satisfied. There is no weak point to be found.
—————————————————————————————————————————————————-

>All in all, I think the Y6 is a very good mid-range smartphone! With a view to the competition and their comparable models, the Huawei deserves five stars and a recommendation to buy. If you do without expandable memory, you have a Dual – Sim Smartphone on top.

Quickly there are better ones. Better ones with more MB, more pixels, in nicer colors with a faster processor. But if you know what you want, the Y6 is not a bad choice.

My expectations are the following:
– a cell phone that doesn’t often get stuck in processes or crashes
– I need to be able to use it intuitively
– the camera should be able to take photos with rich colors, fast fabrication
– apps should be easy to delete and several shouldn’t make my phone desperate.
– I’m a girl and wanted rose gold or gold

What I got:

Actually a golden, very robust cell phone. It was delivered with a foil on the display from the beginning, so I only needed a matching hand sleeve. Great service:

After unpacking I only had to insert the MicroSim, download updates and log in to the WLAN. The rest worked almost by itself and did not take long. There are many apps pre-installed ( Gmail, Playstore etc.). Many of them can be deleted or deactivated and don’t use battery power anymore.

The great thing about Huawei phones is the split screen function. For me it was a novelty, maybe other phones have it too. When I open an app, I can hold down the square at the edge of the screen and the screen splits. The app continues to run at the top and I can comfortably write e.g. emails at the bottom.

When I play Pokemon, open email, drop something down and all this at the same time, the phone doesn’t crash. Everything already happened! The processes slow down only minimally. In the WLAN it downloads updates one after the other after the right setting.

I am also in love with the camera, which takes great pictures. There is a beauty mode for selfies, so you look better. But even better are the colors, which look better than the photos of the old cell phone. I can also quickly and easily edit photos with all kinds of filters, watermarks, etc. For this I don’t need an additional app.

I can of course store my stuff in a cloud, but my memory is sufficient. Photos that I may have accidentally deleted will remain in my trash for 30 days, then the phone will delete them automatically. Often it’s the little things that make a thing perfect.

The intuitive handling is given and the battery lasts long, even when I play Pokemon! All in all I am very satisfied and hope that I don’t throw it down and get a spiderapp. Of course it has already fallen down once, because without a cover it slides for example from the sofa 😉 But something serious has not yet happened.

The workmanship of the 5 incher is very high quality. Because of the aluminum metal back we can speak of heavy quality. The golden back on the product photos looks a bit obtrusive. In fact, the coloring is much more subtle and results in a round, appealing picture with the white frame of the front. Just the right thing for my female better half. 🙂

The display with 1280 x 720 pixels is more than sufficient with the size of 5.0 inches. It is also easy to see in sunlight. There’s nothing to complain about here.

The response of the touch display is reliable and fast.

The smartphone is fast with the quad core with max. 1.4 GHz, but just not very fast. More emphasis was put on optics and the fingerprint sensor. There is just a decrease in speed. In the end, a quad-core is better for a longer battery life than, for example, an octa-core with a similarly large battery. Who puts more value on a higher speed and accepts a reduction in material, battery life and missing fingerprint sensor, is better off with a LG K10 2017.

I hate it, when you wait for the smartphone or the output on the display to snore. This is not the case with the Quad-Core installed here. But it also works faster (see previous paragraph).

The support up to incl. HSPDA/LTE is given. The antenna power is high and offers good performance even in critical situations. The same applies in WLAN operation.

GPS sensor and position sensor work reliably and fast. A gyro is not included, which is not surprising in this price range. In Bluetooth mode, there is nothing to complain about.

The fingerprint sensor, on the other hand, is very good, reliable and practical, although setting it up can take time. A smartphone is probably hardly more comfortable to unlock.

The battery with just over 3000 mAh offers a good runtime. Even with WLAN permanently switched on, you can get up to 3 days of normal use (see introduction). By the way, the battery can’t be changed.

The camera’s disappointment:

As with so many models in this price range, the rear camera isn’t the biggest hit. Not that it can’t take good pictures. They are even quite appealing. It’s once again the lack of attitude towards the camera. Among other things, the m.E. indispensable image stabilization is missing.

Resume:

A high quality processed Smartphone. Price/performance is good in itself, if it weren’t for the poor camera settings. For that a point deduction.

I bought this phone for my 11-year-old son, it was supposed to be a Samsung, something cheap in case he loses it, which is not uncommon at that age…!!!!!!!! After I had already looked at some SAMSUNG phones and almost ordered them, I happened to come across the brand HUAWEI.

Then I realized very quickly that my son and I liked the HUWAEI better in design than the Samsung phones (a matter of taste) and also, in my opinion, the HUAWEI phones offer more for the money, in other words, the price-performance ratio is better than the SAMSUNG phones (this is my personal opinion after research and comparison)…

Since my son absolutely wanted a fingerprint sensor, this phone was ordered and we never regretted it for a single day.
I personally think the cell phone is quite big (but my wife and I both have an iPhone SE, which is very small), but the current cell phones are all somehow getting bigger and bigger, which I personally find terrible, but it’s also a matter of taste.
For that, this model here is still in size…

The battery is strong (2-3 days, of course, depending on use) the display is very sharp and bright, it’s easy to use, there are no waiting times, no jerking with the apps, etc.

Some of the included headphones have a very modest sound quality – but you can’t expect anything else considering the price range of this cell phone – it really can’t compete with my iPhone SE headphones…
And on the other hand, it should be mentioned that the cell phone can only connect to the 2.4 GHz WLAN, not to the faster 5 GHz router at home.
As I read on the internet, this is normal for the beginner cell phones, i.e. in the price range. So there’s a catch, my son is also very fast with the 2.4 GHz WLAN on the Internet with his cell phone…

That’s it with the negative, what I can think of so far…

I can definitely recommend the cell phone for this price and would definitely prefer HUAWEI to SAMSUNG!

For this cell phone I say: an absolute buy recommendation and therefore full 5 stars!

i searched for months ,-) compared, looked around…and decided to use the Y6Pro2017. it is needed for phone calls, social media, snapshots, emails… so no games, or you tube, rarely…., so no smartphone freak, or as someone once wrote in a review – if you don’t want to fly to Saturn with that thing, it can do everything. 🙂

I don’t know about the background technique, but I know how to use it: everything works in the typical Huawei way and is very easy to use (had Samsung, Huawei, Xperia before). 2 SIM cards, or one SIm one memory card. To start up, insert the SIM card and everything is automatic, just your personal settings, and in 5 minutes the thing is up and running….. no advertising, nothing. A few apps that you don’t need, …no matter, you can delete most of them. The 16GB version has about 6,5 GB seperate space, I bought a 16GB memory card to store my photos, and that should be enough. By the way, tag photos will be very good! br>The display is very clear and has nice colors, good for my bad eyes… finally I can see clearly! ,-) . The Smartphone came to 60% charged, was then very soon times on 99% and now let’s see how long the battery lasts (an update will follow)
For my opinion it reacts very fast and briskly, Bluetooth, Wlan, everything works perfectly.
Looks also chic, the silver-white combination, but in the case it also looks good, especially if at some point a high altitude flight with crash landing is imminent…so well packed.
I like it, it can do everything, works perfectly and looks good, the price was right… 🙂
I can recommend it to every average user (as I am) without hesitation.

I bought the Y6 Pro for my daughter (10). Unfortunately it has a software problem. If the SIM card is on slot 1, then the mobile data is not automatically produced after WLAN disconnection. You always have to deactivate and reactivate mobile data first. But if the SIM is on slot 2, it works fine. Unfortunately this causes another problem. You cannot insert a memory card because it only fits on slot 2. I will probably have to send it back again. Otherwise the cell phone is absolutely ok for the price.

Update after talking to the Huawei Hotline:
Leider my problem could not be solved. I should send in the device. But this is out of question for me, I just got it and should send it in for who knows how long?
I have therefore complained to Amazon as defective and will receive a new one today. Let’s see if it has the same defect. Then my suspicion of a software bug would be confirmed. I will write another update after delivery of the replacement device:

Update after delivery of the replacement device:
The second device also shows this behaviour. If the SIM is on slot, the device does not connect automatically to the mobile data. On Slot 2 it works. This confirms my suspicion. It’s a software bug.
The problem occurs only after the update to Android 7. When I got the second device, it still had Android 6, but I couldn’t find this behavior here.

Update after another phone call (3) with the Huawei Hotline:
They finally admitted to me that it is a known software bug. But it is pushed on Google. No idea who is to blame. Interesting for me is, that the bug was admitted only after the 3rd phone call. And after I ordered a replacement device. I should be patient until the update. Who knows if this will happen at all.

Not the less, without this bug it would be a cell phone with a very good price/performance ratio.

I can’t recommend this device to someone who wants to use a memory card.
My internet research also showed that the bug appears in some other Huawei devices.
Google it.

The design of the Huawei Y6 Pro resembles the current IPhone models. On the backside it is kept in a nice gold color, on the front white.
The Y6 Pro has a 5 inch ISP display, which offers a 1080×720 pixel resolution in HD. The display is clear and bright enough to provide a good display here.
The Y6 Pro is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 quad-core processor (64 bit) with 1400Mhz each. No racing machine but absolutely sufficient.
The Y6 Pro has 2 Gb RAM and 16 GB memory. Absolutely ok for a smartphone of this category.
The battery has a capacity of 3020 mAh and thus offers a more than pleasant standby time. Unfortunately, it is permanently installed. Unfortunately, the smartphone only has a nanosim slot. Besides it has a SD card slot.

The operating system is Android 7 or Nougat. As always with Huawei, an own UI (user interface) is used. Here Emotion UI 5.1.

Almost all bands are offered, which is very good. The important ones are usable in any case.

The haptic is very good, the touch also works very well. #

As a further feature we have to mention the fingerprint sensor, which also works perfectly.

The front camera has 5 MP, the back camera has 13MP. The camera on the back side takes quite decent pictures.

The voice quality is very good. Also the speaker is not the worst.

Conclusion: a good low-budget smartphone that is stylish.

I would personally recommend the Huawei Y6 immediately to someone who is planning to enter the world of smartphones, or whose demands on a smartphone are not too high.

So if someone just wants to make a phone call, send whatsapp-messages from time to time or SMS, or surf the net and the demands on the camera are in the snapshot range…yes then the Huawei will satisfy him. Personally I have been using a Samsung Note 3 for years and only use a part of the possibilities it offers ;-)). Nevertheless, I would find it difficult to downgrade, but for beginners as I said ok.

The Huawei definitely cuts a good figure. Slim, slim and the back side is matt black. Chic.

It comes with charging cable, headphones and manual. The manual is intended for beginners only, the others will be able to set up smartphones intuitively. I have already tested several of them and always do learning by doing. I just click through and have a look at it.

I won’t say anything about the battery life, because it depends on the usage of the individual.

The display is convincing, the camera not quite. But it’s enough for snapshots.

The overall impression is good. Recommended for beginners and those who want to use the advantages of a smartphone, but are not willing to pay hundreds of euros for it and have to accept some sacrifices.

The Huawei Y6 Pro is an affordable entry into the world of smartphones.

The most important technical details: Quadcore processor, 16 GB memory (expandable to 128 GB), 5 inch IPS display, 13 megapixel main camera, 5 megapixel front camera, Dual Sim, 3020 mAh battery, fingerprint sensor on the back, Android 7th (either two Sim cards or one Sim and one SD card can be used.)

The setup was very easy. With a Huawei App, which you can load on your old smartphone, all data and settings can be easily transferred.

Also at the operation nothing can be left out. The Y6 does everything you expect from a smartphone. Of course, you can’t expect it to match the performance of the flagship models from Samsung or Apple, but they cost four times as much. I would rather compare it to the old Samsung Galaxy A5.

Until now I haven’t encountered any problems. However, I assume that the very small 16 GB memory will cause problems some day. Experience shows that Adroid handles the memory on the SD card differently than the real internal memory.

Conclusion: Top compared to the price.

This phone is fun.
Optics:
Clear line. Front and back look very high quality.
Handling:
Android 7 installed. Runs perfectly. Fast transitions between applications. Clear menu navigation. Fingerprint sensor on the back works great. Not everybody can do that well. Power button and volume buttons well positioned on the right side. Battery lasts 2-3 days with normal use (phone calls 5-6 pcs. Google, various messengers). For this an extra *. The main camera on the backside takes very good pictures in my opinion, even under bad lighting conditions. A few nice gadgets included. Front camera as a selfie camera absolutely sufficient.
Conclusion:
An absolutely recommendable phone. If you don’t want to fly to Saturn with your phone, this is the right place. Clear purchase recommendation.
Not to forget:
A big thank you to the Amazon team.
Very fast delivery.

My old Samsung phone broke down after many years.br>br>In search of a new one, I got stuck with Huawei.br>The selection is large, which was a bit overwhelming at first.br>br>br>I honestly chose by price.br>br>br>After I wank into the conditions, it does what it should.br>br>It runs fast, the battery lasts longer than the old Samung phone and the camera is really great. (better than my digital camera)

The handling is easy, only the change from one company to another was confusing. But I got in quickly.

The price-performance ratio is great and I can only recommend it.

If the phone lasts a few years now, my next one will be a Huawei

The Huawei can do everything a smartphone has to do. The display responds well, the color scheme is right, the camera is fine. The sensor makes water, the loudspeakers are okay, the quality of the phone calls and the network connection is good. The smartphone reacts within reasonable limits to opening apps, loading images, etc. Of course, one should not expect a high-end device. The photos are not comparable to those of the Apple and Samsung flagships, but for the price (under 200 Euro at the moment) absolutely solid, pleasant and recommendable performance.

Bought at Amazon Warehouse Deals, and eagerly awaited, I unpacked a practically new cell phone. I searched and searched, but could not find a scratch or anything like that. The performance of the cell phone for telephony message whatsapp etc. is completely sufficient for me. It is fast enough for me. I especially like the size. I didn’t want a hand-sized Mini TV but a communication device. Price/ Performance and Shipping Top !

I just wanted to get away from Apple – the Huawei is very good, logical in the menu navigation and easy to use. A little bit limiting are the only 16GB memory – but that was clear to me and I can live with that, because I put a SD memory card into the second slot, so I can store the recordings there. So it works quite well – the cell phone itself leaves nothing to be desired for my needs.

The devices from Huawei have always convinced me with their easy handling – thanks to a customized user interface. This model is also very suitable and equipped for beginners. It is not overloaded with unnecessary apps and can be used directly without much adjustment work. The usage is smooth, fast – and the screen resolution is top. Clear recommendation
