  • Overall:

(edit) Tldr:
Don’t bother with headphones at all, obstrusive firmware, MAKE SURE YOU GET THE INTERNATIONAL VERSION, great camera and overall design. (Just go get a OnePlus)

Several things that nag me.
1)
A ton of bloatware akin to Samsung combined with Apple’s Inability to delete many, if not most of them.
You’ll actually have to go to the settings and do it via the app management panel and many preinstalled apps don’t even show up there. No homescreen shortcut for you!
(Get rid of Oppos proprietary app store. Srsly, it’s cancer.)

2)
Bios is in chinese. Not surprising and doesn’t affect me personally because I can read it but possibly irritating for most westerners.
(edit) Amazon says it’s the chinese version so it’s a given.

3)
If you don’t use the preinstalled music player you won’t get utility on your lockscreen. (pause/play, next/previous Song)

4)
Weired search bar thingy when swiping down on your homescreen which is in chinese. (Srsly, why?)
(edit) Amazon says it’s the chinese version so it’s a given.

5)
Buy an adapter. Srsly, the included earbuds are some of the worst i’ve used in years…

6)
(edit) The type C-ports OP-Amp seems to be… rather lacking. If you’ve got +50Ohm headphones make a biiig circle around this device. In generel everything sounds much more quiet than I’m used to from my old OnePlus3.

7)
(edit) The background colour and the shimmer effect are phenomenal and I absolutely applaud the design team but be careful not to let ANYTHING come close to it because it will scratch… fast.

8)
(edit) Some settings just reset without permission. (Energy saving, etc.) It’s especially annoying when it just decides to turn off background activities for stuff like WhatsApp.

IMPORTANT: Go to the energy settings and enable background activities for whatever messenger apps, etc. you’re using.

9)
(edit) I keep getting messages from some of Oppos proprietary apps from time to time even though I sepcifically disabled background activities for all of them. (goes into #8)

Don’t let it discourage you though. the Hardware is excelllent and customization options are plenty, even for an android phone. (3 Huzzahs for the 6 gadgillion gesture options!!!!)
The in-screen fingerprint scanner is snappy, the camera is amazing (You can actually use it as binoculars), the speakers are extremely loud without beeing tinny even at higher volume and jesus allmighty, does it have sexappeal.

(edit) Don’t let it discourage you though. is honestly not applicable anymore. For westerners especially it’s just not worth going through all the hassle. Go buy a OnePlus or smth. If you absolutely must get this phone (I know I did. Again, sexappeal.) make sure you get the international version. I read through some answers provided by amazon and apperently this is the chinese version on which they simply changed the default system language to english.

@Oppo How come your subsidiary can do stuff so much better!?!?! Srsly, dissolve both your software and quality controll department and just let OnePLus do it for you.
